@davidrevere22813 years ago I was never really a 12 string fan but THIS 8 string Baritone has for sure caught my attention so much!! 8

@dalesearcy57342 years ago I ordered a custom set of strings from Just Strings for my Guild 8 string baritone.
To get an even better sound out of mine, I tune it up to C# to C# and use a slightly lighter gauge set of strings.
[.062 to .014] This tuning is fantastic and the guitars sounds so much better than when in B to B tuning.
I have left shoulder issues and by going to C# tuning and using a capo, I can play the guitar with comfort. It is a lot of fun trying out songs on this guitar and see where the guitar will fit my vocal range.
Highly recommend the Guild 8 string baritone.

@stevepenn26263 years ago Love this guitar! The Alvarez JC1 Jumbo case will fit! That is what ships with their baritone guitar of the same dimensions. Elixir also makes a prepackaged 8 string baritone string set. 5

@nillejc3 years ago I have ordered one of these guitars for myself after viewing your video. By the way, I really enjoy your playing. Sweetwater has told me my guitar will arrive about November so it will be an early Christmas gift to me. 2

@skookapalooza20162 years ago I wish you could do a side-by-side comparison between the Guild & Alvarez 8 String Baritones since they are in the same price range. I really wanted a Taylor for a long time but it's just not in my budget. 6

@pickoid3 years ago It fits in a Gator case. I got mine from Sweetwater. I put a set of D’Addario XT’s on it when I got it. I did a bulk order of 12’s and 14’s from so I’m set for octave strings for the foreseeable future. I got a set of Curt Mangan baritone strings that I will try next. I’m really enjoying the guitar, it’s grown on me a lot. To me, it sounds exactly like a 45 rpm record played at 33. ... 5

@Kabayoth2 years ago FYI: Santa Cruz strings just released two baritone sets in the past few months. I was one of the guys they asked to beta test them. They solve a lot of acoustic baritone problems. My guitar had a sitar-like ring in the upper strings and were punishing to play to begin with. Tuning stability was also a severe problem. I suggest you try a set down the road. I'm also trying to get them to make an 8-string pack, so the more people on that bandwagon the better. ... 1

@roosky2033 years ago I like it, and guilds in general. I just traded my guild OM-150, was a great guitar, but ended up with one of the last Gibson G-45's. Great vid Jeremy 1

@honestinjin103 years ago Wow, the low end has that lovely, rich piano sound. Worth checking out. Not sure how chords work on a baritone guitar. Could be fun discovering 4

@aquajew30002 years ago I bought a "gator gw jumbo case" for mine. Fits like a glove. The guild case will fit. I emailed them and they confirmed it will fit, I just could not find one in the UK and nowhere in the US would ship one. 1

@cfibanezone week ago Nice, even better if the strings were in tune… Regarding cases, Hoffee and Hiscox made such cases, but they will cost you more than the guitar. Regarding strings, there are actually TONS of options I use Labella for baritone and they are great. ...

@espcustomlast year I read online that strings were hard to change on these, especially the thickest string, as if the bridge pins were forced fit and hard to remove, which caused some to break pins and bridges. What has been your experience with this so far ? thanks :) ...

@joepate80973 years ago So you just add two strings 10 & 14 that's awesome you can buy these in a set too?
  • @
@Paul_West3 years ago I just bought the last one for sale on reverb and it’s in the mail. Can’t wait to play the guitar. I called Guild corporate about a case. They did confirm the standard Jumbo case will work for the 258. 2

@stacylangford80153 years ago The 2 strings, d and g, are doubled, like a 12 string. The tuning on this one sounds off, or the entonation. I really would like to have one. Thanks for the video!!

@joepate80973 years ago "8 string Guild so much guitar for the money" that says it quite well quality and dynamics .Are they set up with two strings on the e string and b string I wonder like a 12 string? 1

@IndigoJo3 years ago Have you come across the F40 from Guild? It's their classic jumbo shape but not as expensive as a 55 with all the abalone inlays.

@bogray492 years ago did you gets yours yet? I bought one August 8, 2021 and was immediately informed that it was on back order. I was just informed today (12/31/21) that it finally shipped

@billwhittaker14832 years ago I bought one from my local music store in June 2021 and still waiting for it to arrive.

@paul.fisher3 years ago Two questions. Do you fingerpick the 8-string with bare fingers or with picks? I would be concerned about hitting the doubled strings with bare fingers. Also, did you even buy one and do you still love it?
  • @
@Loipoylast year If you had to choose between the Guild 6 string Baritone and the Walden b1e, which would you choose?
  • @
@tim63102 years ago I have a question. I want this, but I want the 6 string. However, I want the neck binding that only comes on the 8 string. Would it create any problem if I bought the 8 string model, and simply did not use the 2 extra strings? ...

@hashachacheone week ago Guild, basically, are frequently just cheaper + better.......someone got a Taylor home recently, paying thousands, brand new........+ it exploded apart in his hands.

@NickTheSmoker3 years ago Guild Jumbo Humidity case should fit this guitar, Sweetwater helped accommodate my questions about cases for this beauty. Have it now with my case and fits virtually perfect.

@podfuk2 years ago I really don't like how it sounds, it's different and unique, but that does not make good music
