As the mounted #Phalaenopsis is too big for the slab, I have to cut and lower the stem. It's also a method of propagating Phalaneopsis. #orchid #propagation #Keiki May, 2018 Cut the stem: /watch/QL9RmiQhNtJhR Oct., 2018 update: /watch/MKY63QVguv5g6 Nov., 2018 spiking: /watch/oMJWllDwCzzwW Jan., 2019 flowering: /watch/c6c5wKHYcxcY5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch more here: ★Orchid Show► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B30O3Q7nR2mAbFsYuJww4mI ★Phalaenopsis Orhcid►/playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B2OPRS7Fn8yWJKL6vO0NTAp ★Phalaenopsis species►/playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B1B-CiSvACbslvUeYrRTMWW ★Orchid Tag►/playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B1epkgLepLyHy6a4LO32gib ★How to take care of Phalaenopsis orchid ►/playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B30q3NJwNc6jIwBI0v82Zcp ★Dendrobium Orchids► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B2u1-djR4ZlDobsfIJnoW5J ★Mounted Den. aphyllum orchids► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B1MAq-Q_Y6UsWiml3vBzR5R ★Den. aphyllum Orchid→ /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B0e-jwfIAw_NxqKP9YKrBPF ★Den. anosmum Orchid► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B2mpximPtM-CPISfxTy52JR ★Dendrobium aphyllum orchid in full water culture► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B0Yec0u0PCanUHaCikB6aIG ★Dendrobium anosmum var. alba - Orchid with strong fragrance► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B2_RGDEbimUNBKOxb548vJT ★Oncidium Orchid► /playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B29Zx6gB0uWbULqodJMTlt9 ★Orchid Nursery►/playlist/PLN55gZTZw3B2m2MzQEcCmuBuop-ynOHWM

@Digitalhunny5 years ago 💗Thank you for the wonderful video. Usually, hate automatic voices, but I'm guessing that you may have issues speaking English? (It's my native tongue & I still have problems 😂.)
You have one of the most natural setups, for your orchids. Honestly, I have a tip for you that should help your orchids. In fact everyone that grows, should know: @ Are you aware that Phal. orchids actually consume, their own leaves in order to get back those nutrients?! That's right, if your orchid is losing leaves, it could be because you aren't fertilizing it properly & it's eating it's own leaves to survive. Orchids tend to do this when they need to. Especially, if they have no roots.
This allows these amazing plants to consume & reuse those nutrients within, in order to grow newer leaves & /or roots. Sometimes unfortunately, the plant will spike a flower stem for it's 'last hoorah', every orchid growers nightmare.
Please, always leave dying, drooping, yellowing leaves alone on the plant. Allow them to fall off naturally. (UNLESS, of course it has PESTS or a DISEASE!) Your plant will & does reuse & recycle... well the nutrients the dying leaf still has in it.
Remember, in nature, nobody is pulling anything off of the orchid.
Sam's Orchid's, You are doing a lot of wonderful things for your orchids. I just want to help you & the community here, out with some information you may not have known. Hope this helps you all in the future. Happy growing & 🍀🌼💗

@sallyva93295 years ago Respect what a marvelous work you have done,I got one question, how many times do you fertilize your orchid and watering them?

@Ozbullwinkle3 years ago Hi Sam, I really enjoy your Phalaenopsis videos. I have never been brave enough to cut one in half like in this video though. Is it important that when making this cut that the upper section where you cut already has some established roots? I mean if there were no existing roots in the plant above where you cut would it survive?
Also a second question. Is the white spots on your leaves residue from fertilizer that you have misted on the leaves?

@mihaelagavril66874 years ago You should NOT have removed the leaves so the new roots could develop faster!!! The leaves have stored energy in it, which the plant can support itself with. The new roots need energy to grow, and those leaves could have provided it, and the plant would have been stronger for it. Next time let the leaves be and let the plant develop new roots at its own speed. Patience is a virtue which you need to exercise, especially with orchids!! ...
