They make a HAUL in tv commercials, sponsorships, jersey sales and other compensation outside their contract. After they hang up the jerseys, I’m sure they print money in broadcasting or a front office role. Chris has one last shot to be set for the rest of his life and he is going all in to get his bread. Both were signed last year when the cap id="hidden15" class="buttons"> was $208M+. Last year, a time when teams were willy nilly trading picks for players (looking at you Russell Wilson & Tyreek). This year, when the salary cap is $224M and expected to go to at least $240M the following year, NFL in unison all found fiscal responsibility for every position NOT named QB. Despite an 8% higher cap, no other non-QB position has even approached $30M per year. Not Bosa the Younger, not Justin Jefferson, not Chris Jones. For Chris Jones, I’m just over it honestly. Can’t be DPotY if you don’t suit up. Truthfully, the willingness to put the team in a bind, a leader none the less, is disheartening. Chief for life? Chiefs for the right price. bro wouldn’t even look as good if he didn’t have #15 on the other side putting on a show every game.
