How to make a savory Galette | Egg & Paneer Galette | Foolproof Galette dough Recipe | French Recipe
A galette is a French pastry (Sweet & Savoury) similar to a tart or a pie; it’s essentially pastry dough wrapped over a filling made from vegetables, butter & cheese form pie-like pastry doesn’t require a special pan — just a nice flat surface for baking.

Makes 2 serving
Crust
All purpose flour- 3/4 cup
Butter (salted) - 60 gram (cold)
Water- 2 tbsp (chilled)
Filling
Corn- 1/4 cup (frozen)
Peas- 1/4 cup (frozen)
Cottage cheese (panner) - 100gram (diced)
Salt- as per taste
Oregano- 2 tsp
Chilly flakes- 2 tsp
Black pepper- 1 tsp
Butter- 2 tbsp (melted)
Eggs-2
Milk- 2 tbsp
Processed cheese- 2 cubes
Fresh Coriander- for garnishing
Method
1. In a medium bowl, mix together flour and butter using potato masher or food processor or fork until crumbs are formed. Add water and stir until incorporated.
2. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile prepare the filling. In a bowl, add corn, peas, panner, butter and all the spices. Mix well and microwave for 2 minutes, then set aside to cool
4. Preheat oven at 200°C
5. On a lightly floured surface roll each piece of dough into 8 inch circle (medium size chapati)
6. Place each on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
7. Spread cheese all over the dough leaving 1/2 inch around the edge.
8. Spread filling on top of cheese.
9. Fold dough over the filling. Brush with milk wash.
10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until light golden.
11. Remove from oven and make a well in the centre of each galette.
12. Crack 2 eggs in a different bowl, add an egg on each galette and bake for 10 minutes more until eggs are cooked.
13. Garsh with fresh coriander.
