Burnside Bridge is arguably the most famous stone bridge in the country amongst historians, but did you know that this style of bridge was common everywhere in the Sharpsburg region during the time of the Civil War? Garry Adelman is joined by former park ranger and Co-Founder of the American Battlefield Trust Dennis Frye, as well as Tom Clemens of the Save Historic Antietam Foundation to talk about the action at the Upper Bridge, north of the famous Burnside Bridge on Antietam Creek.
This video is part of our commemoration series for the 158th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam.
