Let’s talk about why more artists should start a YouTube channel in 2021! Beyond just the potential to grow your audience on a new platform, there are many reasons why I think YouTube is an ideal platform for artists to share their work and creative practice. Hopefully this video helps to convince you of starting your own channel and creating videos about your work, your practice, and your own ideas and musings. join me on patreon! » https://patreon.com/sophiamitropoulos my website » http://www.sophiamitropoulos.com twitter » https://twitter.com/sophiamitrop ✰ music by epidemic sound ✰ https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/z3mevl/ ✷ equipment ✷ Camera https://amzn.to/2WDJHgZ Primary Lens https://amzn.to/3dO9EzW Compact Tripod https://amzn.to/2WFSEGx GorillaPod https://amzn.to/2Yjd7Rf Audio Field Recorder https://amzn.to/3h7G6Qi Softbox Lights https://amzn.to/2T9Pys8 Dimmable LED Light https://amzn.to/3bA0MfP White Seamless Paper https://amzn.to/2LwWVFQ Adjustable Seamless Stand https://amzn.to/2WCQvLB Be sure to subscribe to my channel! @pixiestyx3 years ago YouTube is definitely my favorite platform, too! I love the real connections you can make with people. I know you can do that on other platforms, but with YT it just seems more interactive. 2

@Sanisgillon3 years ago Omgosh. I subscribed to you at the end of 2020 and I just this week took the recording for my first art yt video. It's like this was made for me. It's a sign that I should edit that together and start my art channel. Thanks! ... 7

@martiisor3 years ago Being embarrassed of being seen trying is such a huge thing! 🥲 it’s hard to have people see you when your outcomes are still small, and believe in yourself nonetheless. But I have quickly come to realize that doing that is just being mean to myself... I’m having a good time on YouTube, I’m pursuing something I love to do, and I’m putting a piece of me in every video, so why is that something to be ashamed of? Once I realized this (like only 2 videos ago lol) everything comes more naturally ☺️☺️ ... 4

@FilipaValentim3 years ago Can't agree more with you and this video!!! I just started my channel super recently and YouTube is so much better than Instagram for the art community - I think the fact that on YouTube, it is about the process and not the finished piece is the most AMAZING thing ever ❤️ ...

@Julie-vy3oz3 years ago I just started posting art on Instagram just to be brave and maybe find a tribe. I’m good being an audience and applauding all you internet stars. ;) And you looked adorbs in your outfit. 2

@saralouisedawson3203 years ago I appreciate this perspective! I follow a lot of tattoo artists on Instagram and a log of them have commented on the algorithm and how difficult it was to navigate, so I'm really pleased to hear that this one is working better for you and also helping to think about your art in a disciplined way!
Also, A+ fit and lovin' the chaos as always!

@esotericdrawing58563 years ago I love the vibes of your channel soo much! You inspired me to start an art youtube in 2020 and it's been the most rewarding platform for sure, for me an unexpected twist was how helpful it is to see the art in timelapse and you can kind of see it come together from a different perspective, if that makes sense. ...

@alexsantiago95943 years ago I started my channel “Moon Kolour” somewhat at the same time as you and I only have 36 subscribers (used to have 37). It is kinda frustrating and somewhat sad. One of the reasons I created that channel was to of course gain a lil of money and to share my art to other people. I don't know if its because my channel is in Spanish, because I only upload one video every Friday or because of my video quality. But even all of this I'm trying to be consistent because that is what people recommend.... ...

@JelloTwins3 years ago I found your channel maybe two months ago and I honestly l o v e y'all!!! You make art feel like less pressure to make bc I struggle a lot with putting my creations at high standards. It's so refreshing and nice to see someone that embraces art no matter the "quality" you rock :D ... 1

@elizabethdejurewood3 years ago Your videos are delightful, and your candidness about the art process. Would love to see a “how to” video of your video filming and editing process. I’ve had my IG account deactivated for months and would love to post on another platform that feels more substantive, creates accountability as you said, etc. Thank you for your inspiring videos. ...

@natalietee22793 years ago Thank you for the video! I totally agree with all the things you talked about and I was also surprised to learn that I grow as an artist by making youtube videos, and I only made 7 so far xD But would you recommend new youtube artists to start out making videos once every 2 weeks? I realize that the amount of time I spent in making a well edited video is eating into the amount of time I could spend improving my art skills, but at the same time I feel pressured to keep up a weekly schedule because it seems to work better with youtube’s algorithm :( ...
