ToonCraft: animating late

Yep!... I actually dreamed this about a year ago 😅 It's no secret that one of my all time favorite games is Super Metroid. It's a game that made such an impact in me that's its made a lasting impression even after all these years. As some of you may know, one of the things that I animate for Apex Legends is the character selection for the legends, my subconscious must have been particularly busy one night when this little sequence popped in a dream. Never really though much of it so I just put it away in my memory bank and it wasn't until recently that I figured it would be kinda fun to actually animate it and give it the aesthetics of an Apex character selection with as much detail as I could. In order to do this I had to recreate every single detail that you see on the screen. Besides the character of Samus, every single element is created from scratch in order to sell the illusion. The rig was not created by me, it's a rig that I acquired online from Gumroad and the creator is Joe Toole. It was really fun to change the animation style a bit from the one I've gotten used to in APEX and make Samus animate a bit more snappy. Overall I had a great time making this short animation and I could not think of a better way to pay homage to one of my favorite games of all time. I only spent about 3 or 4 nights making this so overall it came together very quickly...
