Kal-El lands in Gotham instead of metropolis before Bruce Wayne is conceived, so the Wayne's adopt him and he id="hidden4" class="buttons"> only discovers his powers when his parents are gunned down and he kills the mugger with laser eyes. They call him Bruce and later, when his parents (of course) id="hidden9" class="buttons"> get killed, he kills the mugger with his heat vision and later becomes Batman but with powers.
