Feeling Nervous about the First Semester of Nursing School | Nursing Student Tips

Are you feeling nervous about the first semester or first day of nursing school? Here are some nursing student tips to help you get through those feelings of nervousness and succeed through the program. I can still remember my first day of nursing school and how scared I was. I remember asking myself if I really knew what I was getting myself into and if I was smart enough to get through nursing school. I think most everyone feels those feelings of fear before the big day. The key is to deal with those feelings properly so you don't psych yourself out. Try to keep yourself busy before you actually start the program and get some last minute fun in. In addition, reflect on other situations that caused you to feel the same feelings of nervousness (like the first day of high school) and think about how you overcame that situation. Most importantly don't get bogged down by the future workload of nursing school and know that you will be completely nursing school one day at a time (not in three days).
